The mission for our practice is to help restore and
maintain optimum health by applying the cutting edge of scientific knowledge.
We want you to
keep your teeth in maximum health, comfort, function and
aesthetics as appropriate to you.
We aim for you to achieve as high a state of overall
general health as possible.
Environmental
Responsibility
We want our environmental footprint to be as small as possible. We are
Carbon Neutral (or even +ve).
We ask our suppliers to show us what steps they are taking to reduce Carbon
Emissions and what recycling they undertake.
We recycle all that we can, this includes the mercury and amalgam from old
fillings (Dental Practices are the single largest polluter of Mercury into the
environment - not us though).
We use, wherever possible, recycled materials.
Our practice is dedicated to a holistic
approach to dentistry. Medical research has long established the
crucial link between dental health and physical well-being. By
getting to know you and your needs, we can create an individual
treatment plan for your dental health and aesthetics.
We will
look at your general state of health, how it is affected by your
dental status, nutrition and lifestyle and will suggest ways to
improve which go beyond traditional dentistry.
We are a
mercury-free and metal-free practice aiming to apply natural
materials and gentle, holistic treatment techniques.
We believe in quality over quantity, taking our time and getting
it right.
We aim to build a relationship of mutual trust with our
patients and emphasise courteous and caring treatment.
We will
discuss and explain every step of the treatment plan with you and
confirm it in writing.
Dr. Graeme Munro-Hall has over 35 years
experience as a dentist in Britain and continental Europe. In
1992, he was awarded a Fellowship of the International Academy of
Oral Medicine and Toxicology for his work on Dental Toxicology.
Qualifications awarded by the IAOMT are not recognised as speciality
qualifications by the General Dental Council
As an advisor the German government, Dr. Munro-Hall was
instrumental in changing prevailing opinion about the safety of
mercury amalgam fillings.
He is active in bringing the scientific truth about Mercury Amalgam, Fluoride,
toxic root fillings and cavitation infections to the attention of EU officials,
Governments, Professions and Public in order to stop the use of Mercury Amalgam
and Fluoride.
He has been mercury free for over 20 years.
Dr. Lilian Munro-Hall graduated in 1988 from Lund University,
Sweden, one of the leading European research university for
state-of-the-art dental materials and techniques.
Together, they
developed the Hall V-Tox Therapy - a method of removing toxins
from the body using intravenous Vitamin C.
The Munro-Halls have pioneered
the use of materials and techniques for Holistic Dental
Treatment, writing and lecturing world-wide about the benefits of
the Hall V-Tox Therapy, which is explained in the practice booklet.
They also give lectures on Amalgam, Mercury, Fluoride, Root Fillings, Cavitation
Infections, Detoxification Methods and Protecting patients and staff.
Between them, they speak English,
German, Danish, Spanish, Norwegian and Swedish.
They travel continuously to learn new
techniques and methods and to share experience with colleagues
around the globe.
We are using the latest treatment methods
and most up-to-date equipment and techniques available including:
Lasers
Intra-oral magnifying TV cameras
Cavitat: Ultrasound technology to detect chronic infections (NICO'S)
Mercury Vapour Meter
TOPAS Toxicity Meter
Ultra Low Dose Digital X-Ray Machine
Air-Flow Cleaning
Square wave Magnetic Resonance
Lumen Light
Intra-venous Vitamin C
Ozone (from iv to topical application)
etc. etc.
This is to ensure you
are treated in the best possible way applying latest knowledge.
We have chosen our location, equipment and materials in a way that ensures maximum well-being and protection for all our patients, particularly patients which have already developed an illness and are sensitive to chemicals and other pollutants.
There is not a recognised definition of Holistic Dentistry, but it means more than hanging a crystal in the window and not placing amalgam fillings.
Holistic Treatment as we understand it means using patient friendly materials with the minimum of intervention to achieve the desired goal. It means seeing the patient as a unique individual with the aim of restoring overall health. It means arriving at the correct diagnosis after a thorough examination and developing a plan for optimum health as appropriate to the individual patient.
Examination: Patients start by filling in
and returning the registration forms. From these we can get an idea of the
patient's needs and how long an examination appointment is needed. Anything from
one hour to three hours. Then the patient rings us or we ring them the arrange
the examination appointment.
Any recent x-rays, up to 12 months old, should be brought along to this
appointment.
At the examination appointment, we record everything we
see and do on DVD and photographs. Dental and medical histories are investigated
and a complete examination of teeth, gums, (periodontal) joints, bones and
muscles are done.
Mercury vapour levels in the breath is always measured.
Any appropriate tests are done, such as x-rays, TOPAS toxicity tests, Cavitat,
stool, urine or blood, all after consultation with the patient. (We do not test
for testing's sake, only to find something specific).
Sometimes impressions are taken of the patients teeth to give us a working model
of the mouth.
When all this information is gathered, Graeme & Lilian sit together and work out
a plan for the optimum health of the patient. This includes a tooth by tooth
breakdown of what is to be done, the cost and the time needed to accomplish
this.
This is then written down and sent to the patient. Any questions from the
patient are answered and are welcome.
Only after the patient has had their questions answered and signed the treatment
plan is a date set for treatment.
After Treatment: Patients are not abandoned to the wolves after treatment. We monitor their progress to make sure that we are achieving what we set out to achieve. In 80% of patients nothing more needs to be done, the other 20% may need some of the many tricks up our sleeves to accomplish the plan's goals.
In order to achieve this high standard, we have established the following principles in our practice.
Mercury-free: Mercury used in Silver Amalgam fillings is the most toxic metal found naturally on the planet. Sweden has banned amalgam and we have not used it in our practice for the past 25+ years to the immense benefit of all our patients. We can measure the amount of mercury leaking out of your amalgam fillings. Ask for our practice booklet which explains about the health effects of amalgam fillings.
Metal-free: All metals, including gold and titanium, can have a negative effect on health. We therefore do not use metals at all.
Materials: Ceramic, Zirconium and Polyceramic are the materials of our choice which combine durability with much better looks.
Protection: To give maximum protection to
both staff and patients alike, we double filter the air for mercury, bacteria
and VOCs (volatile organic carbons), use only distilled water in the equipment, let the patients breath
pure oxygen, wear special glasses and use both IAOMT and Hall V-Tox Mercury
removal protocols.
Even the local anaesthetic is chosen because it is one of the few that are not
coal tar derivatives which is a proven cancer risk.
Root-Filled Teeth: These teeth can affect
your health by releasing toxins produced by bacteria which are living inside the
lateral canals of the root. Conventional root filling methods cannot dislodge
these bacteria. These toxins released by the bacteria can travel anywhere in the
body causing symptoms in any organ or system.
There are tests available, TOPAS Test, to help identify existing
and potential health hazards from these toxins.
There is a "Biological" root filling material called Biocalex or Endocal which
can expand sideways through the lateral canals pushing the bacteria out. The
material is technique sensitive and cannot be used by conventional methods.
However, only 50% of root fillings using the "Biological" materials stay
infection free but this is better than the 10% of conventional root fillings
that stay infection free. (These are our figures derived from testing patients).
Gum Problems: 90% of adults have some from of gum disease. Gum Problems can mean health problems such as heart disease, diabetes or morning sickness. We will treat your gum problem and show you how to care for your gums using natural oils and herbs. This is a gentle effective method for healthy gums and fresh breath.
Material Tests: There are many ways of testing which dental material is suitable for you. We will be happy to advise you before you undergo any treatment.
Occlusion: Faulty fit of the teeth can cause symptoms from headache to tooth loosening. We have the technology to prevent and correct this.
Polishing and Whitening: We use Airflow technology to polish teeth with Bicarbonate, which removes plaque, tea and tobacco stains without scraping and can whiten teeth about half a shade. Bleaching we do not use because the bleach when placed on the teeth is measurable in the blood stream within 20 seconds. Bleaching blood may not be the brightest idea if you want to maintain optimum health long-term.
Cosmetic Dentistry: From simple veneers to
complicated crowns and bridges - we work with the most modern
dental laboratories in Europe to ensure perfect fit and natural
aesthetics for a perfect smile and function.
We do not do any cosmetic procedures that are not conducive to long-term health.
